Case Study: The University of Melbourne, Australia
Opening at the beginning of 2019, the University of Melbourne's student accommodation on Royal Parade has given rise to some 285 new rooms for both undergraduate and post graduate students living in the Victorian capital.
A leading example of contemporary inner-city student housing, the Royal Parade site boasts extensive indoor and outdoor communal areas, dedicated study spaces, a music rehearsal studio, games room, gymnasium, basketball court, POPP ICON table and more.

The adaptive reuse of the existing Salvation Army Training facility via an extensive internal refurbishment, rear extension and facade rejuvenation has all been made within walking-distance of the University’s Parkville campus.
The regular program of activities and social events offered by the University helped inform the design and placement of the spacious indoor and outdoor communal areas, fostering a collegial and supportive atmosphere for students and visitors alike.
